packaging ... How to be eco friendly! HOW?

I totally got side tracked comparing computer security products on internet for my new and shiny laptop :))) happens to me all the time. I'll tell you that comes with the age!

It is quite popular to talk about less packaging, being more eco friendly, look after or if more precise look at your waste and rubbish.

I totally agree with that but only question is HOW?

Some days I cannot believe how quickly my rubbish bin fills up.

Disaster! What a heck I supposed to do?!

With our everyday life being so fast I can't see myself at the litter bin at supermarket door ripping all the packaging of my purchases. I probably would join the team of local weirdos.
As I am making and selling crafts myself I often think how to wrap them nicely.

That's one thing. But how to wrap them that they will reach customer safe and not damaged.
Picture
In some ways packaging my makes  stresses me out every time. I know I think too much what others will think.
In one way I want to be friendly to our mother Earth and on another side I care that my pieces will no break in transit.
Form me it's brown paper, cotton string, carton box modified by me to suit the piece: that is how far I can try to be nice to planet.

Sadly I have to use packing tape to keep all of it together and a good bit of bubble wrap. And few, just few artificial flowers to beautify my package.

If to be serious I think this outlook to be more gentle to environment will come only with generations and more education on issue, in fact with much better availability of recycling, reusing services.

If you have any opinion on rubbish issue I'd love to hear..

Cherio for now

seasonal decorating - how it looks in my gaf

I am quite sure that normal people ... normal people ha ha... don't have multiple  boxes under beds with labels like "Halloween stuff", "Deers", "Easter", "X-mas lights" etc. All those labeled boxes and baskets I have are all purposed for indoor decorating as the seasons go and come.

My PC is simple piece of technology and I don't own any fancy software for editing and retouching images and sometimes I just give up and don't post anything for a while. Extent of my editing is Picasa. So I just want to try to make a decent display of my season decors I've done in my gaf.

Let's start with my current - Coastal decor.

It is not that bad with me. I only have my decorating hands on this mantle piece and a wall but as you see I can fit quite substantial amount of stuff into this small space.

Just before it was Easter bunnies everywhere
I LOVE MY TOPIARIES! This vintage look egg tree can be used every year.   Just realised I have roll of artificial grass at home!

Neutral decor with my favorite anemone picture.
 Easy on the eye, right?

Heavy season! Christmas

Last X-mas and year before. Moss is one of my favorite materials to work with. If I could or rather if it would sell I would make decors mostly with natural materials.

I have my fancy sleek camera so now I can take fancy and sleek photos! ;)
I haven't given up on making Christmas decors and trowing them into the big world, meaning Etsy.
At the moment I work away on wooden wall plaques and that kind of stuff.

Slowly and surely I'm getting over my "blue" obsession because autumn is on the doorstep with all its deep and juicy colour palette.

Fall yall!

Halloween madness!
I don't celebrate Halloween but I had so many little pieces sourced and I have this board on Pinterest - Crafts to try  that I just couldn't let it go by so easy. After last years Halloween I have another box of Halloween stuff under my bed.

This post is taking ages! :)))) a year long! actually it's not all, because sometimes I have decorating rush between the seasons. I just come up with some kind of idea or I have bought a piece in TKMAXX .... again. I love their household section sooo sooo much, if only I would be rich...

We had a sniff of good weather last week.Sun and warmth was lovely. Now we are back to whats normal - rain. :) However Spring is there and are coming with abundance of color.

I have made few pieces for Spring events. Wreath is up on Etsy but for garland I did not find time yet as I'm heading for a short Spring break.

I hope I will enjoy it. My Etsy store is still open only the postage can be done after I return 24th of March.

Have a lovely time

Shocking! right? How fast time goes!

It seams that I should start to wrap up my started projects for Spring break. 12 days seems enough to prepare but I know myself well.

All will be the last moment run :)

Today is probably the last big crafting day for me before I head on to my Spring holidays.
Finishing touches to my customer order. Welcome sign for a country cottage. It turned out lovely.

After parting up with all my wine coasters I decided to make few more.

So that is on the list today.

As well as Easter wrath I decided to put up on Etsy and probably Easter garland but looking at my grand plans I have funny feeling that's going to be to much for this unorganised person.

Children have too much energy whet it comes to creating things (or ruining things, or destroying, but mostly creating stuff :)  and my niece especially can't have enough of creativity.

So this is what we ended up with this Easter season 2016.

We transformed Christmas topiary tree she made with silver baubles and light string into colourful  Easter egg tree.

Of course there were few more crafting projects as we went.

Happy Easter
